Little Flowers Girls’ Club

Dear Parents,

            Thank you for showing interest in the Little Flowers Girls’ Club.  The Little Flowers Girls’ Club, developed by Rachel Watkins, is a program that strives to provide young Catholic girls ages five and up with an opportunity to gather and learn about their Catholic heritage, faith, and traditions.  Based on Fr. Francis Lasance’s Catholic Girls’ Guide, written in 1906, Little Flowers takes the best of “The Maiden’s Wreath” and applies it to a girl of the twenty-first century.  The program uses saints’ biographies, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the Sacred Scriptures to teach the basics of a holy life within a fun, friendship-filled environment.  It is a very flexible program, easily implemented across various age groups.  Its structure and content make it an excellent opportunity for parishes, school, and home school group settings!

Outline of the Program

The program contains four years of material consisting of wreaths of virtue.  Nine virtues are included in each wreath.  Each virtue, designed to cover a month of the school calendar, has an associated saint, color, flower, and Scriptural Memory Verse (e.g. Faith, St. Catherine of Siena, Yellow, Sunflower, and Hebrews 11:1).  A Little Flowers group can choose to complete all four years of study or just one or two!

No more selling cookies, no more useless activities.  Join a group that allows you to spend quality time with your daughter while learning virtues of the Saints.  No more emulating pop culture , teach your young daughter about her Catholic faith through a legitimate well organized Catholic group.

 

The Little Flowers Girls Club is a program whose goal is to provide young Catholic girls, from ages five and up, with an opportunity to gather and learn about their Catholic heritage, faith, and traditions as well as other “womanly” traditions that may have faded away. 

 

Please come to our first meeting even if you are not Catholic, you are welcome to attend with your daughter.  This is not a drop off group, a custodial adult must attend with their child. Meetings will only last 1 hour.  The first meeting will be an informational meeting.  Come and see what this special group is all about!
